I hope we once again have reminded people that man is not free unless government is limite

"I take pride in living and working in Kershaw County. I am a conservative that cares tremendously about each resident regardless of political affiliation. I have the moral courage to stand up for what is right. I believe Integrity is everything.  I know what it takes to find solutions, navigate complicated governmental agencies, and get things done, together. Government ineffectiveness has to stop."

                                                                                                                                   Katie Guinn

The tax payer is the last person we should go to to assume the financial burden of government projects. I also believe a fee is a tax and creating fees is the same as raising taxes. I support lower taxes and elimination of fees. The county tax revenue belongs to the people of Kershaw County and they should always have say in how it is spent. Elected Officials should never refer to tax revenue as "their" money. I do not believe throwing money at a problems is an effective solution. Responsibly spending means living within our means. The tax payer is not a bottomless pit of money and should not be treated as such. Fiscal responsibility also includes not creating debt for our children and future generations.

We need less of it. Plain and simple. Elected officials are always accountable to the people of Kershaw County. Our government has slowly increased over time and it is time to stop the increasing of government and regulations. Smaller government starts doing an inventory of our current departments and policies, then simplifying our policies and processes to ensure the most freedom for Kershaw County citizens.

Our elected school boards members are the governing authority for the district. We need to hold them accountable for their decisions just as we do all other elected officials. I believe parents should always have the choice of the best education path for their children. Our children are the future of this county. As your county chair, I will work along side school board rather than in a silo because the impact of our decisions on our children are extremely important.

Economic development is crucial for a thriving county. Our small business owners in Kershaw County work hard and contribute to the community in ways that are often not seen. I do not believe the local government should grant tax abatements to incoming commercial private businesses which helps compete with the established businesses in the county. If a private company can be more efficient than the government, I support privatization. If we work towards making Kershaw County government less restrictive and smaller,  businesses will want to set up shop in Kershaw County. I did not and will not support government mandated shut downs of businesses. This cripples our business owners.

Working together is key. Our county is diverse. It is important to have a council that represents the county.

Whether you're on a combat mission or planning an event we all have to work with people that we might not agree with 100%. God designed us all differently for good reasons. It is truly time that we diversify and work together for a conservative future Kershaw County.

People matter. Every single citizen in this county has a voice, a story and a future. I will listen to you. I will call you back, and I will do everything I can to problem solve with you. From mental health, road issues, safety concerns, business transactions, you name it. If it is important to you then it is important to me and your concerns within the county always deserve to be represented with respect and empathy.  You deserve to be listened to and I will listen to your concerns and answer my phone.
